4th July Deadline Approches for new legislation which states that all individuals carrying out activities covered by the F Gas Regulations can no longer operate legally unless they have obtained the new F Gas qualification - City & Guilds 2079 or ConstructionSkills J11. Companies who employ personnel carrying out these activities must have obtained their Full Company F Gas certificate by 4th July. More >

The Coldest Winter since 1970
It seems that climate change is giving us colder winters as confirmed in the briefing below. Fuel prices continue to rise so the emphasis is on how to use less fuel by introducing energy efficient technologies to existing systems such as new control panels, energy efficient pumps and thermostatic radiator valves for wet systems. Introducing new energy efficient systems can reduce consumption by some 40%. More >

The shocking increase in the price of domestic oil
We received an email from the Department of Energy and Climate Change regarding the Government's activity in ensuring fair pricing is maintained in the oil and LPG industry. We were as shocked as our customers to find the uncompetitive practices which were going on particularly during a time of crisis. Part of the problem was supply which due to extreme weather conditions meant the tankers could not get to homes. We do have a local Company who supply oil and seem to have their pricing under more control which is encouraging. We await the Government's comments as obviously this information affects us when providing information to our customers. More >

Deadline for Air Conditioning Assessment is 4th January 2011
If you have operational control of air conditioning systems with a cumulative effective rated output of greater than 12kW you must be in possession of an air conditioning assessment report for the system by 4th January 2011. All commercial premises where you have operational control of air conditioning systems with a cumulative effective rated output of greater than 250kW required an energy assessment report for the system by 4th January 2009.
