Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

We can install, maintain and repair air conditioning systems or refrigeration equipment used in manufacturing and production. Temporary cooling can be installed where longer term remedial works are required.

From 1 Jan 2010 it is illegal to use virgin hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) such as R-22. This was the most commonly used refrigerant in older systems.

Until the 31 December 2014 use of recycled/recovered R-22 is possible but availability is likely to be limited and costs will increase steadily until it is completely banned.

From 1 January 2015 sales or use of recycled/recovered R-22 will be prohibited. These systems will have to be replaced when they fail and cannot be repaired.



The regulation also states that all fixed systems with a refrigerant charge greater than 3kg will require an annual check for leakage.
